Avia entered the UK market with its well-known D Series light truck range in 2001.
Prague - Focused primarily on the volume 7.5 tonne sector, the company rapidly established an extensive sales and service network and has achieved a parc of some 200 vehicles to date. Indeed, Avia’s D Series has been trialled and operated with success by a number of major light/medium truck fleets including Royal Mail, whilst initiatives such as a 3-year unlimited mileage warranty and 8-year cab anti-corrosion warranty set a market precedent. The world economic recession has hit European truck markets and manufacturers hard, however - and Avia is no exception. Truck manufacturer Avia records a strong production growth
Prague - The truck production in Prague-Letňany pulled off at full speed. In the last three months, the truck manufacturer Avia Ashok Leyland Motors (AALM) produced nearly as many vehicles as in the first half of 2010. "After a classic downturn in the early summer months, based on an order for 200 chassis of e-powered vehicles for the Smith Electric Vehicles company and by introducing special vehicles series for construction and municipal sector we have heightened our production. Avia prepares to manufacture bus chassis for the European market
Prague – The Letňany automobile manufacturer Avia Ashok Leyland Motors (AALM) is entering the next phase of development and preparations for the production of bus chassis. This expansion of Avia’s traditional portfolio consisting mainly of light diesel-powered trucks is part of the concern strategy of the automobile division of the Hinduja Group. “Our parent company, Ashok Leyland, obtained a one-quarter share in the British bus manufacturer Optare.
